Assembly
Read the operator's manual carefully to ensure that you assemble the product correctly.
Using a product that has been incorrectly assembled could lead to an accident or serious injury.
Connect the outer tube to the powerhead
1. Spark plug
2. Clamp screw
3. Tube clamp
4. Drive shaft
5. Outer tube
6. Protective cover
1. L-wrench
2. Tube clamp
Connect the throttle cable
1. Ignition leads
2. Fan cover pocket
Before you start
WARNING
1.
Place the powerhead on a clean, flat surface, spark plug fac-
ing up.
2.
Slip off the protective cover from the end of the outer tube.
3.
Use the L-wrench to loosen the tube clamp screw.
4.
Slide the outer tube into the tube clamp until the tube bot-
toms. If installation is difficult, rotate the outer tube or main
shaft slightly until you feel the drive shaft splines engage with
the powerhead.
5.
Position the outer tube so that the gearcase output shaft is
facing left on silencer cover.
6.
Slide the outer tube into the powerhead until the throttle grip
just contacts the tube clamp.
Ensure that the fuel tank cap is securely in place.
Failure to do so could lead to an injury or serious accident,
or cause a fire.
Do not force the shaft tube into the powerhead.
Excessive force can damage the shaft tube and drive shaft.
7.
Tighten the clamp screw firmly.
1.
Connect 2 ignition leads from throttle cable tubing to 2 igni-
tion leads on engine.
2.
Place the connected ignition lead connectors in the fan cover
pocket.
Wiring runs must not interfere with throttle operation.
