The GlideRite
Single-Use Stylet (Large) is designed to help enable the placement of an endotracheal (ET) tube. The rigidity
®
of this stylet helps users manipulate the tube as desired for intubation. The stylet is for use in endotracheal tubes with
internal diameters of 6.0 mm and larger.
Note: There is no guarantee that instruments selected solely using these instrument dimensions will be compatible in
combination.
Statement of Intended Use
The GlideRite Single-Use Stylet (Large) is an intubation-assist tool intended for use by qualified medical professionals, for
guiding an endotracheal tube past the vocal cords into the trachea, shaped to work with GlideScope

Caution: Federal (U.S.) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
WARNINGS
• Inspect before use —do not use if product or packaging is damaged.
• Do not allow the stylet to protrude beyond the distal end of the ET tube.
• Do not allow the stylet to advance into the glottis or past the vocal cords.
• Single use only. Do not reuse, reprocess, or resterilize.
Instructions for Use
1.
Read all instructions before using the stylet.
2.
Remove the stylet from its protective package.
3.
Load the ET tube onto the stylet until its proximal end is secured onto the tapered handle. Ensure the distal end of the
stylet does not extend past the distal end of the ET tube.

Insert the ET tube into the patient's mouth immediately adjacent to the GlideScope video laryngoscope.
5.
Position the distal end of the ET tube at the opening of the vocal cords. Do not advance the stylet past the vocal cords.
6.
When the ET tube is engaged in the glottic opening, retract the stylet 5 cm (2 in) by pushing up on the thumb tab of the
stylet. While retracting the stylet, pass the ET tube through the vocal cords.

7.
Position the ET tube per standard practice.
8.
Remove the stylet from the ET tube, in an arc toward the patient's feet.
9.
Dispose of the stylet as appropriate for biologically hazardous material.
