6. Move the drum sander across the workpiece lightly, letting the tool to do
the work.
a. Move the tool only forward and backwards for the best result. Lift it
when you need to move laterally to a new section on the workpiece.
b. Overlap the previous work path with the sanding drum on each
subsequent pass to make sure no areas are missed on the workpiece.
7. Avoid rocking or tilting the drum sander. This can cause deep cuts and
gouges in the work surface.
8. Keep the drum sander in motion. Pausing in one spot will allow the drum
sander to eat into the work, creating an uneven surface.
9. Lift the drum sander while still under power. Once clear of the workpiece,
switch the power off and and allow the sanding drum to slow to a stop
before placing the tool down.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to
control and will have fewer problems.
2. Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or
worn components.. Only use identical replacement parts when servicing.
3. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool. Follow instructions
for changing accessories.
4. Keep the tool handles or gripping surfaces clean and dry.
5. Maintain the tool' s labels and name plates. These carry important
information. If unreadable or missing, contact Princess Auto Ltd. for
replacements.
6. Check the carbon brushes periodically. Replace brushes when they have
about 1/4 in. remaining or the brush displays signs of breakage, crumbling
or burning. Check that the new brushes can move freely in the brush
holder. Run the motor for 15 minutes without load to shape the brushes,
so that they are properly aligned with the commutator.

improperly repaired tool may present a hazard to the user and/or others.
