MAINTENANCE
Maintenance of flue pipes is of fundamental importance for best and safe appliance operation.
Scheduled maintenance must therefore be carried out by qualified technicians at regular intervals
established together with the users and the person responsible for the chimneys, in compliance with
the specifications of current regulations and laws.
Maintenance of the system for expelling the products of combustion requires the following periodic
work to be carried out at least once every 12 months, unless specified otherwise by law:
- check of correct fitting of joints between elements;
- checks for combustion product leaks from the joints between elements;
- check of the state and intactness of the internal surfaces of the ducting, cleaning and removal of
any deposits from the actual wall.
Suitable equipment must be used for cleaning in compliance with legislative and statutory provisions
relating to the protection of the safety and health of workers in the workplace. The materials and
equipment used must not change the characteristics or functions of the products (in particular black
steel brushes must not be used).
After cleaning ensure that no part of the chimney is obstructed or the draught hindered in any way;
the internal walls of the stove pipe must be regular.
It is emphasised that this maintenance must be carried out before the period when the appliance is
normally used.
a
After cleaning, normal working conditions of the system must be restored by removing
the equipment used for cleaning, collecting up the waste material from cleaning and
putting it in bags that are suitable for the transport of waste and can be sealed.
The operator who has done the cleaning must dispose of this material in accordance
with current laws and regulations on waste disposal.
STORAGE
The various components which are to be installed must be stored inside the retail warehouse, on the premises
of the installer or in any condition of ambient temperature since they are resistant to both cold and heat.
The storage environment must be free of halogen compound substances such as trichloroethylene and
other chloride compounds which could damage the metal.
Prepare a storage area which is designed to protect the components from any knocks resulting from
the movement of other means and lifts so as to prevent any of the pipes or intake sections from being
deformed.
