barrier of at least 4 cm must be created around
the connecting flue pipe using mineral-based
insulating material (such as rock wool) with
a nominal density of at least 100 Kg/m
a thermal conductivity λ at a temperature of
400°C not above 0.12 W/mK (λ at 100°C not
above 0.045 W/mK).
This thickness may be reduced to 2 cm
whenever an approved insulating material is
used that has a high specific heat resistance,
such as calcium silicate with a thermal
conductivity λ at a temperature of 800°C not
above 0.17 W/mK (λ at 400°C not above 0.1
W/mK).
For non load-bearing and non-flammable
walls, place a metal tube between the
connecting flue pipe and the wall that acts as
a diaphragm, otherwise the interspaces must
be filled with non-flammable, non-deformable
materials and with a reduced heat transmission
capacity (for example light concrete);
- It is advisable to install the trim collar.
- Check that the connecting flue pipe is fixed to
the chimney intake without protruding inside;
the end section of the intake and the chimney
axis must intersect (see figure to the side).
Ensure that the installation is EN 15287-
a
1 compliant.
