INSTALL ACTUATOR PLATE
Place actuator mounting plate on crankcase.
Apply Nut Lock to threads of one 3/8-16 X 1 plate
mounting screw and two 3/8-16 X.75 screws.
Install screws, with washers, through plate and
into crankcase throttle and shift linkage bosses.
Tighten to a torque of 18 to 20 ft. lbs. (24.5 to 27
N·m).
Apply Nut Lock to threads of both ESM mounting
studs. Install each stud to the actuator mounting
plate in the locations shown below. Tighten to a
torque of 18 to 20 ft. lbs. (24.5 to 27 N·m).

INSTALL ELECTRONIC SERVO MODULE
(ESM)
Install grommets on ESM.
1. Grommets
Apply soapy water to grommets and push ESM
assembly on to studs.
INSTALL SHIFT ACTUATOR

Route ESM to shift actuator harness behind
capacitor clamp as shown. Tighten clamp screw

to a torque of 60 to 84 in. lbs. (7 to 9.5 N·m).
Attach connector to clip on mounting plate.

Install support clamp loosely over shift actuator
motor. Route the shift actuator harness between
the mounting plate and the back side of the shift
actuator. Place actuator arm through hole in
mounting plate and guide actuator into position.
