Disconnect ground cable from
battery. Raise the vehicle. Remove engine
under cover, left hand mud guard, and drain
cooling system.
Disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors.
Carefully lower the front exhaust pipe by
removing the 6 attachment nuts to gain
access to the threaded core plug (Refer to
Subaru service manual for proper removal of
front exhaust pipe). Insert the 17mm hex bit
socket tool into the core plug and loosen.
2.
Remove core plug and drain
remaining coolant. Discard drained coolant.
NOTE: Be careful when removing plug as
coolant may be hot.
