• When cutting larger branches, a cut is first made from the underside through 1/3 of the branch's
thickness, outside the final cutting point. This means that the branch does not fold when it cut
from above outside the initial cut. Finally the branch is cut straight off.
First cut
Adjust chain tension
Insert an Allen key in chain tensioning screw
(circled) and tighten the screw. Tighten the
chain until it can be lifted out of the groove on
the guide bar. The saw chain should be possible
to lift slightly from the guide bar when the
chain tension is correct. Replace the chain if it
becomes dull.
Replacing the saw chain
1.
Loosen the knob.
2.
Remove the guide bar cover and remove the chain.
3.
Align the chain drive sprocket so that the chain tensioner engages in the guide bar. Check that
the chain runs in the right direction.
4.
Refit the guide bar cover.
5.
Tension the chain.
