The total home water pressure booster is a tankless
pump system that boosts water pressure in a home water
system to one of three selectable pressure settings – 50,
60 or 70 PSI. The system will pump water at a maximum
water temperature of 95° F (35° C) up to 22 gallons
per minute.
NOTICE: This pump is not to be used to draw water
from a cistern or other static water source. The pump
depends on water flowing into the pump to attain
desired operation.
Figure 1: No cisterns or lakes. Flowing water required.
The motor varies in speed to maintain constant pressure,
boosting water pressure to the pressure you program
using four stainless steel impellers. The pump will
not operate when there is no inlet pressure to prevent
running dry. The control panel with integrated electronic
speed control indicates pump status and controls
the motor for soft starts and soft stops to minimize
water hammer.
Engineered composite plastic and stainless steel is used
throughout for a durable and corrosion-free pump. A
provided back flow valve allows booster use without a
pressure tank.
NOTICE: A booster pump increases pressure but does
NOT noticeably increase flow. Pressure will increase
most at restricted flow rates, and increase least at high
flow rates. Boost in a typical household will depend on
the flow. See Product Specifications.

Unpacking and Inspection

NOTICE: Handle with care. Check items received
against packing list to be sure that all equipment has
been received. Inspect for shipping damage. If found, file
claim with carrier immediately.
Follow local and/or national plumbing, building and
electrical codes when installing the pump. Use rigid pipe
when installing this pump.
Plumbing
Pump only clean water with your booster pump. To avoid
clogging the pump and damaging the shaft seal, do not
pump water containing solids, foreign material, sand, silt,
salt, or abrasives.
If you are boosting the pressure from a well pump, be
sure that the system check valve is tight. If the system
pressure drops when the well pump is not running, the
booster will operate only when the pressure is below the
pressure set point (50, 60 or 70 PSI).
Do not use any pipe joint compound on pump ports
- use only PTFE pipe thread sealant tape to seal the
threads. Pipe joint compound will damage certain
pump components.
Tighten all the piping joints to the pump hand tight plus
1-1⁄2 turns (not more). Overtightening may break the
pump and will void the warranty.
Pipe and fittings to the pump should be at least nominal
1" diameter. Pipe or fittings less than 1" in diameter
will reduce performance and may damage the pump
through cavitation.
The pump mount should be level, solid, as near as
6395 0311
possible to the water source, and protected against
excess moisture and flooding.
Use the shortest possible run for piping and the
smallest possible number of fittings. Long pipe runs and
numerous fittings increase friction and reduce the flow
of water.
Support the weight of the piping and pump.
Do not allow the pump or any system components
to freeze. Freezing will damage the pump and void
the warranty.
Periodically inspect the pump and system components.
A low pressure safety cutoff switch is not needed
because the pump will sense no water pressure and will
not operate. This feature prevents dry-run.
NOTICE: Local code may require a pressure relief valve
or pressure regulator.
