M
OUNTING THE UNIT
Mount the unit via screws or bolts through the four mounting holes in the base.
Ensure the unit is mounted on a flat, solid, vertical surface such that the base will
not flex or warp when the mounting screws/bolts are tightened.
C
ONNECTING THE DATA GATHERING PANEL TO A CONTROL PANEL
Refer to the control panel installation guide for instructions.

ONNECTIONS
MM PLUG ON SCREW TERMINALS
Power
Connection of the 23 Vac, AC from the transformer.
Earth
Earth wires from all pieces of equipment must be earthed at
one system earth. For further detail see the ATS control panel
installation guide.
Note
Power and battery wires should be firmly tied in order to avoid
short circuits to any other part of the system in case a
connection of the wire is broken.
Batt
+ - connections to a 12V/6.5AH maximum sealed lead acid
battery.

DATABUS
databus. Remote units can be up to 1.5 km from the control
panel. Also see the control panel installation guide.
J2
Connection for panel tamper switches. Can only be used with
TAMPER
normally closed contacts such as the panel tamper switches.
Normally closed front panel tamper contact
Normally closed rear panel tamper contact
Zones 1 to 8 require 4k7 end-of-line resistors for normal state.

J7 –
Positive and negative connection to external 8 Ohm siren

speaker. 1k resistor must be fitted across these terminals if the
siren is not connected. The siren output is the 16th (last)
output allocated to the DGP address. e.g. on DGP 1 the siren
is output 32. On DGP 2 the siren is output 48, etc.
LED'
S
RX
LED flashes to indicate polling data is being received on the
system databus from the ATS control panel. If the LED does
not flash the control panel is not operational or the databus is
faulty (usually cabling).
TX
LED flashes to indicate the DGP is replying to polling from the
ATS control panel; If the RX LED flashes but the TX LED does
not, it indicates that the DGP) is nor programmed to be polled
in the control panel or is not addressed correctly.

O
UTPUT NUMBERING
A DGP can have a maximum of 16 outputs available as relays or open collectors
outputs. The output numbers are the same as the 16 zone numbers allocated to
the DGP address.
Z
ONE NUMBERING
The ATS 1201 has 8 zones that can be expanded using the ATS 1202 (8 zones)
to a maximum of 32 zones. If the number of zones exceeds 16, then the zones
are taken from the next DGP address and DGP ceases to exist.
e.g. DGP 1 has 24 zones (zones 17 to 40). The next DGP in the system must
now be addressed and polled as DGP 3, because zones 33 to 40 on DGP 1
have taken from DGP 2.
The unused zone numbers in the system (zones 41 to 48) must be programmed
in the zone database as Type 0.

A
ON - DGP has 2 or 3 ATS1202 zone expanders connected to J5.
OFF - DGP has none or only 1 ATS1202 connected to J5.
B
ON - ATS1811 8-way relay card or ATS1820 16-way open collector card
connected to J8.
OFF - no ATS1811 or ATS1820 connected to J8. Use this setting also if
an ATS1810 is connected to J8.
CD
OFF – Not used.
