6.8 To change the sweatband

SR 520 and SR 530 Hoods
The sweatband is secured to the forehead strap by double
sided adhesive tape. Proceed as follows:
• Pick away one end of the sweatband so that it is removed
together with the tape.
• Pull the sweatband off.
• Remove the protective paper and fit the new sweatband.

SR 580 Helmet

The sweatband is attached to the forehead strap by a Velcro
tape. Do the following:
• Unhook the face seal from the head harness. Fig. 21.
• Remove the sweatband.
• Fit the Velcro tape with the rough side towards the forehead
strap and the groove facing upwards.
• Attach the face seal hooks in the head harness. Fig. 21.

6.9 Replacement of gasket

The gasket is located inside the helmet. Fig. 2a.
Proceed as follows:
• Unscrew the hose from the helmet.
• Remove the gasket from the flange and fit the new gasket.

Powered Air-Purifying Respirator. Do not attempt to repair or
modify any component of the system except as described in
the User Instructions.

8. Approvals

NIOSH 42CFR84 Approval
The SR 500 in combination with hood SR 520, SR 530 or
helmet SR 580 is NIOSH approved as a loose fitting respirator
with an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) of 1000. See NIOSH
Approval Label for approved component configurations,
cautions and limitation statements.

WARRANTY: In the event any Sundstrom product is found to
be defective in material, workmanship, or not in conformation
with any express warranty for a specific purpose, Sundstrom's
only obligation and your exclusive remedy shall be, at Sund-
strom's option, to repair, replace or refund the purchase price
of such parts or products upon timely notification thereof and
substantiation that the product has been stored, maintained
and used in accordance with Sundstrom's written instructions.
EXCLUSIONS TO WARRANTY: THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLU-
SIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OTHER WARRANTY
OF QUALITY, EXCEPT OF TITLE AND AGAINST PATENT
INFRINGEMENT.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Except as provided above, Sund-
strom shall not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage,
whether direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential,
arising out of sale, use or misuse of Sundstrom products, or
the user's inability to use such products. THE REMEDIES SET
FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE.
