10. Let all parts dry completely and inspect all parts for damages.
11. Insert the valve insert assembly in the breathing valve. Make sure to insert it in the
correct position so that the "keyed" shape of the valve insert engages in the valve
housing. [Fig. 20]
12. Assemble the locking nut by hand. [Fig. 21]
13. If the breathing valve is of safety pressure type:
Check that the handle is in the position shown in image (open position) [Fig 22].
14. Check that the lever has a resistless movement of at least 3 mm. [Fig. 23]
15. Use the lever bar (tool #30004-51) to make sure that the lever is in the correct
height. The lever must be in the upper area of the lever bar. [Fig. 24]
Too high. [Fig. 25] Too low. [Fig. 26]
16. Assemble the diaphragm in the groove of the diaphragm holder. Make sure it is
evenly fitted all the way around. [Fig. 27 & Fig 28]
17. Assemble the securing ring. Make sure that the holders on the securing ring fits on
each side of the lugs on the diaphragm. [Fig. 29]
18. Assemble the exhalation diaphragm. Make sure to push it down as far as
possible. Make sure that it is sealing properly all around the edge. [Fig. 30]
19. Assemble the sealing disc. [Fig. 31]
20. Assemble the O-ring. [Fig. 32]
21. Make sure that the guide pin and the washer are correctly sssembled. [Fig. 32]
22. Assemble the guide disc with the sealing spring in the cover. Assemble the
diaphragm assembly on the spring. Make sure that the spring is centered on the
sealing disc. Make sure to press the diaphragm assembly straight down. If it is
turned, it may affect the spring force. [Fig. 33]
23. Make sure that the shield ring and purge button are correctly assembled [Fig. 34]
24. Make sure that the exhalation unit works correctly by lightly pressing the guide pin
down. Make sure that the diaphragm quickly moves back up by itself. Repeat this
a couple of times. [Fig. 35]
25. Assemble the exhalation unit on the breathing valve by only turning the locking
ring [Fig 36].
WARNING! IN THE FOLLOWING CASES IT IS REQUIRED TO DO A PERFORMANCE TEST ON A CALIBRATED TEST
EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDED BY INTERSPIRO:
* PARTS HAVE BEEN MIXED BETWEEN DIFFERENT BREATHING VALVE
* PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH NEW ONES
* PARTS HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO ANY OF KIND EXCESSIVE FORCE, E.G. DROPPING THE VALVE INSERT COULD
BEND THE LEVER ON THE VALVE INSERT
* IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY DEVIATION FROM THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! ANY ADJUSTMENT OF THE BREATHING VALVE AND ANY REPLACEMENT OF PARTS MUST BE
CARRIED OUT BY A CERTIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN.
