Laboratory Mill CD1
As test milling is an entire process, we felt that it was necessary to
complete the MILLING equipment with a fitting designed for:
- improving and standardizing the conditions for preparing the
wheat for grinding.
- economy: both in terms of time and actual operation which till now
has been performed manually.
With this in mind, a rotary mixer with a water-adding device and a
homogenizing screw have been created (refer to the brochure on
the machine).
In cases, rarely practiced now - but in every case of local wheats -
when the moisture content of the samples exceeds 16.5 % and
must go through a drying process, we advise the following method:
1.
Using a laboratory bench, spread the 500 g sample on a
0.25 m2 paper. Drying will be done at the ambient laboratory
temperature. Avoid all contact with a radiator or any source of
heat which is difficult to regulate.
2.
Allow enough time for the moisture content to fall to between
14 and 15 %. This generally takes several hours.
3.
Then, as indicated above, bring moisture content up to 16.5 %.
Following this, there should be a 24 hr. resting period.
