b.
Do not adjust the drill speed until the chuck is at constant speed. If
the speed control knob is tightened when the motor is not running,
the belt will jam when the motor starts.
6.
Pull down on the feed handle and slowly drill a hole into the workpiece.
7.
Once the desired depth is reached, slowly push the feed handle up until the
drill bit clears the workpiece.
8.
Lower the drill's speed to less than 1,000 RPM, before turning the power OFF,
then wait for the drill bit to stop rotating. Remove or reposition the workpiece.
DEPTH STOP
The drill has a stop to limit the drill bit's depth. Multiple holes can be accurately
drilled to the same depth. The depth range increases in 1/16 in. increments to a
maximum of 3-1/8 in. The depth stop control is located on the gear shaft
between the head assembly and drive handles.
To limit the drill travel to a specific depth:
1.
Turn the depth stop locking screw 45° counterclockwise.
2.
Rotate the dial collar until the desired depth is aligned with the indicator
arrow on the head assembly.
3.
Tighten the depth stop locking screw by turning the screw clockwise 45°.
