Use the supplied CD-ROM (Disc version Ver.1.100) to install Sound
Manager for PXA-H800 (software version Ver.1.100/ Ver.2.100) and set
up the appropriate PXA-H800/ RUX-C800 software for the connected
Alpine Ai-NET compatible head unit.
Installing Sound Manager for PXA-H800
(PC Software)
The pre-installed software version of PXA-H800 and RUX-C800
Commander (sold separately) is Ver.1.00x or Ver.1.100.
• To confirm the version, refer to "Viewing the Version Information"
(page 3).
To use Ver.1.100
Install Ver.1.100 using the supplied CD-ROM to update the PXA-
H800 and Commander. No updating is needed if the pre-
installed software version of the PXA-H800 and Commander is
Ver.1.100.
To use Ver.2.100
Install Ver.2.100 using the supplied CD-ROM when PXA-H800
and RUX-C800 software has been updated to Ver.2.100.
Checking the Applicable Version
The version that needs to be installed depends on the connected head
unit.

• When a non-Alpine Ai-NET compatible head unit is used
• When one of the following Ai-NET compatible products is

Installing Sound Manager for PXA-H800
CAUTION
• Strictly observe the Warnings and Cautions written by the
manufactures of your PC and peripheral equipment.
• We do not accept responsibility for data lost due to the
incorrect operation of the Sound Manager for PXA-H800.
We recommend you to back-up your important data
regularly.
PXA-H800 Sound Manager PC compatibility
This software is compatible for Windows OS (XP, Vista and 7)
and only supported 32-bit edition. Windows XP x64, Windows
Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 are not compatible.
Recommended specifications
CPU: 1.6 GHz or higher
Memory: 1 GB or higher
HDD: 512 MB or more available space
Display: 1024×576 or higher
Caution before installing
• Install the Sound Manager software for PXA-H800 before
connecting the PXA-H800 to your personal computer.
• Before installing, all active programmes must be stopped.
• If Ver.1.000 of the Sound Manager for PXA-H800 is currently
installed, uninstall it before installing this new version.

Insert the supplied CD-ROM (Disc version Ver.1.100)
into the CD-ROM drive.
Do not remove the CD-ROM until all the update process has
completed.

Start [InstallSelect.html] and click [Install Ver1.100]
or [Install Ver2.100]. Following the instructions on
the screen, perform the installation of Sound
Manager for PXA-H800.
• If [InstallSelect.html] cannot be executed, start up [setup.exe] in the
[Ver1.100] or [Ver2.100] folder.
• The recommended browser is Internet Explorer.
Updating PXA-H800 and RUX-C800
Commander (sold separately)
If you are using the PXA-H800 and RUX-C800 that have software
version Ver.1.00x pre-installed, or if you plan to use Ver.2.100, the
PXA-H800 and RUX-C800 Commander (sold separately) need to be
updated.
How to update
<Update order>
1. Install Sound Manager for PXA-H800 on your PC.
2. Back up the preset data*.
3. Update the PXA-H800.
4. Update the RUX-C800 Commander (sold
separately)*.
5. Set the Speaker System and AUX Input System.
6. Restore the preset data using the backup*.
7. Call up the preset data*.
* Perform as necessary.
