If the Dräger CSE Connect app is used, the gas
detector always has priority with respect to
measurements and the gas measured values and
information need to be checked on the gas detector.
4.10.1 Pairing without a PIN
Requirements:
®
– The Bluetooth module is installed in the gas
detector.
®
– Bluetooth is activated on the gas detector and the
smartphone.
1. Open the CSE Connect app and select Pairing.
2. Select the gas detector X-am 8000.
If several gas detectors are within range, it may
be helpful to identify the desired gas detector based
on the serial number, which is printed on the gas
detector. In older versions of the CSE Connect app,
the gas detector can also be identified by the unique
MAC address. For further information, see the
following chapter: "Opening information", page 46.
3. Accept pairing on the smartphone.
Pairing of the devices is complete.
4.10.2 Pairing with a PIN
Requirements:

– The Bluetooth module is installed in the gas
detector.
®
– Bluetooth is activated on the gas detector and the
smartphone.
1. On the gas detector, select
Request.
 The pairing window appears.
2. Open the CSE Connect app and select Pairing.
3. Select the gas detector X-am 8000.
If several gas detectors are within range, it may
be helpful to identify the desired gas detector based
on the serial number, which is printed on the gas
detector. In older versions of the CSE Connect app,
the gas detector can also be identified by the unique
MAC address. For further information, see the

4. Accept pairing on the smartphone.
 The upper LED on the gas detector flashes green
and the Bluetooth
flashes.

Pairing must take place within 30 s otherwise the
numeric code will become invalid.
Pairing with PIN comparison (from Bluetooth
version 4.2 upwards)
If a numeric code is displayed on the gas detector and
the smartphone:
1. Check that the numeric code on both devices match
and confirm on both devices.
 The upper LED and the Bluetooth
the gas detector no longer flash.
Pairing of the devices is complete.
Pairing with PIN entry (from Bluetooth
4.2)
If a numeric code is only displayed on the gas detector:
1. Open the pairing dialog on the smartphone.
2. Enter and confirm the numeric code from the gas
detector.
 The upper LED and the Bluetooth
the gas detector no longer flash.
Pairing of the devices is complete.
4.11 Monitoring
4.11.1 Special features when measuring
with the pump
NOTICE
Magnetic media may be damaged!
The pump adapter and calibration adapter contain a
magnet which may delete data from a magnetic stripe.
► Do not bring magnetic media (e.g. credit cards) into
close proximity to the pump adapter or calibration
adapter.
When using long hoses (from 10 m):
– Ensure strain relief for the weight of the hose.
– Make sure that the intake hose is not kinked.
– The max. hose length is 45 m (with an internal
diameter of 3 to 5 mm).
– Use the dust and water separators when taking
measurements with the pump.
– The nominal flow rate is 0.35 L/min.
– The flow alarm is triggered if the flow rate is
<0.3 L/min.
