Damage to the inverter due to switching on the DC
load-break switch when the battery is turned on
Switching on the DC load-break switch at the same time
as the battery results in irreparable defects of the inverter
and will void the warranty.
• Ensure that the battery is switched off before
activating the load-break switch.
Battery requirements:
The battery is floating, with both the (+) and (-) conductors
connected to the DC inputs of the inverter. Neither
conductor is connected to ground.
The DC power can be disconnected with the
inverter-integrated DC load-break switch.
Cable requirements:
Figure 25: Cables with different conductors (from top to bottom):
multi-strand, fine-strand and extra fine-strand
Cables with multi-strand, fine-strand or extra fine-strand
conductors can be used for DC connection (see figure
2.23). The cables must be suitable for a temperature of at
least 75°C.
When using fine-strand or extra fine-strand conductors,
bootlace ferrules must be used for the connection.
DC terminal fuse:
Install a fuse switch-disconnector and a Class J UL-listed
thermal fuse between the inverter and the battery. In the
event of an error, they are able to securely switch off the
short-circuit current of the battery.
Grounding:
The DC terminal must NOT be connected to ground!
Installation Manual
Procedure:
Figure 26: DC connection area
1. Disconnect the inverter (see Section 8, page 35).
Figure 27: DC label
2. Strip the DC cable insulation.
3. Connect the DC cable to the inverter. When doing so,
ensure the correct polarity.
4. Tighten all cable glands with the correct torque (see
Section 11.4, page 49).
