12. Defrosting the ice cube compartment
WARNING!
Risk of injury!
There is a possible risk of burns resulting from the low
temperatures.
Do not touch the ice cube compartment's frozen inner
walls or frozen foods with your hands. Use a dry cloth,
for example, to hold the frozen products.
Thick deposits of ice on the ice cube compartment surfaces reduce the efficiency of the
appliance and increase the energy consumption. Defrost the appliance regularly, as
soon as the layer of ice is more than 3–4 mm thick.
NOTICE!
Possible material damage!
Damage to the appliance caused by improper handling.
Do not use any other mechanical equipment or synthetic
agents to accelerate the defrosting process, e.g. electric
heaters, hot air blowers or hair-dryers or pointed or hard
objects. The heat insulation and appliance interior are
sensitive to scratches and heat and can melt.
Do not operate any electrical appliances inside
the refrigerator. Both appliances may be damaged
irreparably.
Take the frozen product out of the ice cube compartment (9), wrap in a few layers of
newspaper and possibly a blanket and store it in a cool location.
Set the temperature control (7) to 0 and pull out the mains plug.
Clean the appliance, see section "Cleaning the appliance".
