- Important. After having driven the first 500 km approximately, it is necessary to check the
tightening of the screws clamping the beam to the chassis of the vehicle and, if necessary,
tighten them at the prescribed torque of 90 Nm! We recommend you to have this check
done at the nearest authorized service shop. In next disassembly and assembly of the
trailing coupling, the clamp screws have to be replaced with new ones.
- 6 -
- Blind the orifices for fastening the cross beam of the vehicle using the dismounted screws,
and tighten them carefully -detail-.
Next, proceed to the mounting of the electric installation of the trailing coupling upon
the vehicle (see the instructions for mounting the electric installation of the trailing
coupling EEA 600 001 EL4).
Having finished the mounting of the electric installation, mount all the dismounted parts back
to their places and tighten the respective connections at the prescribed torque moments.
Mounting of the trailing arm
- 7 -
- Fasten the trailing arm (C) by means of the screws M12 x 70 (D) and nuts M12 (E) with
washer (F) between the clamping brackets of the trailing coupling. Insert the screws in such
a way that the head of the screw is situated at the L.H. side of the bracket (in the driving
direction).
- 8 -
- Tighten the screws with the torque moment of 80 Nm.
- Affix the self-adhesive label „75 kg" (H) upon the rear bumper, above the trailing arm
-arrow- (before affixing it, clean and degrease the respective place carefully with the uni-
versal cleaner).
- Fit the cover (G) upon the ball journal of the trailing arm.
Advice for the customer
Check the tightening of the screws fastening the trailing arm (fig. 8) regularly after ha-
ving driven about 500 km!
Take care that the ball journal is always well greased with a suitable lubricating grease,
and is provided with the cover (G) always when the trailer has been uncoupled.
After coupling the trailer, insert the plug (from the trailer) into the socket of the trailing
coupling, and check the function of lights on the trailer.
When driving without a coupled trailer, the socket holder must always be tilted into the
bumper.
Any alterations and changes of the trailing coupling are not admissible.
When using the trailing coupling, follow the instructions given in the present Manual.
The manufacturer does not assume responsibility for any damages resulting from im-
proper mounting of the trailing arm, its overloading or damage due to a car accident.
