Fault
Mechanical fault
8. Periodic maintenance and cleaning
The unit must only be operated when in perfect condition!
Immediately shut down the unit as soon as any damage or malfunction is detected!
Danger!
• Only open the control unit and carry out maintenance work on the entire machine when the mains plug is disconnected!
• The unit must always be secured against falling or toppling over while being installed, repaired or maintained – risk of fatal injury!
• Place a retaining strap through the carriage and secure it with a lifting device!
Caution!
Risk of physical injury to people and animals and material damage!
• Maintenance and cleaning work must only be carried out by trained personnel.
• Keep all safety and warning notices on/at the unit in a legible condition at all times.

8.2 Visual inspection of mechanical + electrical safety technology
• Daily inspection of the unit for externally visible damage and general functionality.
• Check of the status of the electrical cables and the control unit. (Bite marks, wear spots, loose connections, etc.).
8.3 Gears
The gears have already been filled at the factory with Shell Tivela S320 gear oil. Top up any lost oil using only this type of oil. Check whether oil is
leaking from the gearbox seals.
8.4 Screw connections
Check all screw connections weekly to ensure they are tight, especially the securing of the unit to the wall. Tighten the screw connections if neces-
sary.
Cause
The brush carriage does not move
cleanly up and down.
The gear turns but one or both brushes
do(es) not.
Corrective measure
• Foreign body in the guides.
• Remove the foreign body.
• Parts of the guide are worn or faulty.
• Replace faulty and worn parts.
• The horizontal play between the carriage and the frame is too
great.
• Place a 0.5 mm metal plate (Art. 18810-23 - item 2.18) under
the plastic guides (Fig. 14, item 02:17) –> less play
• Replace the guides.
• Frame warped.
• Check whether the wall surface is even (wall-mounting).
• Check whether the frame has become warped due to its se-
curing screws being fastened too tight (pillar-mounting)
• The brush driver is torn inside.
• Replace the brush with a new one.
