6.3.1 Monitoring the brush resistance

The unit monitors the current used by the motor and therefore checks the correct functioning of the cattle brush. If the gear motor is placed under
too much strain, the brushes stand still and then move in the opposite direction. This can occur if the animals lean to far too one side or if a tail
gets wound up in the mechanism.
If this event is repeated several times without the unit having run properly in between, the unit first goes into an alarm state for a few minutes
and does not start during this time. If the load on the motor is not lower even after this pause, then the fault message "A03" is triggered after
further load cut-offs and the unit no longer starts.
The cut-off resistance can be set using the dip switch element (see table under 6.3.2) on the PCB. The cut-off resistance is lowest at the F1 setting
and highest at F15.
The default setting and therefore the best setting for the Cow Cleaning Machine Duo is F13.
