Use the upper support bracket for non-protruding doors cod.
S-150BD00065.
** The curved arms are used when the distance between the
counterweight casing and the edge of the overhead door is less
than 15 mm (fig. 13). It is also possible to choose arms with a
25 mm or 50 mm ring.
FIXING OF LONGITUDINAL FRAME MEMBERS AND
GEARMOTORS (fig. 15)
Use suitable self-threading screws to fix them to the overhead ga-
rage door frame.
N.B.
Position the gearmotor at the centre of the overhead
door, for non-protruding overhead doors, see fig. 15/A.
INSTALLING THE TELESCOPIC ARMS
(D-MAX=43 mm for Art. 150 BDL and Art. 150 BCL; D-MAX=68
mm for Art. 150 BDL1 and Art. 150 BCL1) (fig. 16).
1. If the overhead garage door has not been so designed, fix the
top supporting brackets as shown in fig. 5 with suitable self-
threading screws (maintain the measurements given in fig.
7/A).
2. Cut both of the components of the telescopic arms, maintaining
the measurements given in fig. 7/B.
3. Fix the telescopic arms.
MANUAL UNLOCK (fig. 17)
N.B.: The release device lever may appear to be jammed at times.
This is due to the force applied by the gear motor which varies
according to the size and weight of the up-and-over door. Simply
apply greater pressure to the lever to move it.
A manual release kit is available on request. This allows you to turn
the handle of the up-and-over door from the outside.
N.B.: NEVER INSTALL BOTH RELEASE DEVICES ON THE
SAME HANDLE (see fig. 18).
ATTENTION
-
If the overhead door is very large (over 7m²), 2 handles are
normally already fitted; if not, install another one in order
to mount the release device on the other motor.
-
If the overhead door is fitted with a pedestrian entrance
and has just one handle, install another one in order to
mount the release device on the other motor.
To mount it correctly, proceed as follows:
1. Check the contents of the pack (see fig. 10);
2. drill a hole in the pin of the door handle using a 3mm diam. bit
(see fig. 11);
3. fix the plate (1 fig. 12) to the door lock guard (2 fig. 12) using
the same screws as the door guard;
4.
remove the manual release from the gear motor (3 fig. 12) and
fix the external release device in its place (4 fig. 12);
5. thread the metal cable through the relative screw (5 fig. 12)
on the plate,
after the sheath has been introduced in the cable
terminal (1 fig. 10);
6. adjust the length of the cable until the door is released (the
door handle turns) and fix with the screw (6 fig. 12);
7. optimise travel of the door by adjusting the screw mounted on
the plate (5 fig. 12) before fixing the relative lock nut (7 fig. 12).
Mount the release kit on the second motor in the same way.
NOTE:
● on installation, check the cut of the sheath, which must be
clean to avoid blocking, before applying the cable termi-
nal;
● to avoid blocking, avoid right angles or bends when ex-
tending the cable to the handle;
● grease all moving parts to ease the return of the cable;
● from time to time, check that the mechanism is working
correctly, if necessary act on the sheathing adjustment
nuts.
REBALANCING THE OVERHEAD GARAGE DOOR
Once the garage door has been installed add counterweights un-
til it is properly balanced. This guarantees minimum strain on the
automation with all the benefits.
SOME GENERAL ADVICE
● Integrate overhead garage door safety in compliance with cur-
rent laws.
● Choose short routes for cables and keep power and command
cables separate.
● Install the control card inside a waterproof box.
● To calibrate maximum gearmotor torque follow the current reg-
ulations in force.
● In accordance with European standards on the issue of safety,
it is advisable to install a switch outside so you can switch the
electricity off if the door needs servicing.
● Make sure that each single device installed is efficient and ef-
fective.
● Affix signs that are easily readable warning people that they
are near a motor-driven door.
USE
Gearmotors of the SPIN series have been designed to move over-
head garage doors with a maximum surface of 7 m² (SPIN12 -
SPIN12QR) and 10 m² (SPINF - SPINQRF).
It is categorically forbidden to use the equipment for any other
use or under circumstances different from those mentioned-
herein.
The electronic unit (that must have the built-in electric clutch)
normally makes it possible for you to choose from:
automatic: a command pulse will open and shut the door;
semiautomatic: a command pulse will open or shut the door.
If there is a blackout the overhead garage door will work for the
models in the SPIN series powered by a buffer battery; to controlit
manually first operate the unlock mechanism.
Do not forget that this is an automatic, electrically driven device so
please use it with caution. Most of all:
● do not touch it with wet hands and/or wet or bare feet;
● turn the electricity off before opening the control box and/or
gearmotor;
● do not pull the lead to pull the plug out;
● do not touch the motor unless you are certain it is cold;
● only operate the door when it is completely visible;
● keep out of the door 's range of action if it is moving:wait until it
has stopped;
● do not let children or animals play near the door;
● do not let children,or incapable people, use the remote control
or other operating devices;
● carry out routine maintenance;
● in the case of a failure, turn the electricity off and work the door
manually only if it is possible and safe to do so. Refrain from-
touching the door and call an authorised technician.
