6.1
Safety instructions for maintenance
D WARNING!
Danger through a disregard of the maintenance
instructions!
This chapter contains important information for the safe
maintenance of the device.
☞ Read through this chapter carefully before carrying out
maintenance work on the device.
☞ Follow the safety instructions.
☞ Carry out the maintenance work as described.
y Repairs only by qualified specialist personnel.

y After use, the hob and other parts that could be touched
may still be hot. There is a risk of burning.

Fault rectification
Possible faults are described below:

Control panel does not react after being touched several times.
y The hob is locked.
☞ Unlock the hob.

y The control panel is soiled.
☞ Clean the control panel.

y The device software requires a restart.
☞ Interrupt the power supply for approx. 10 seconds.

The device does not work.
y No power supply.
☞ Check that the device is connected to the power
supply.
☞ Switch the electricity supply on.
y The breaker may have been tripped or is defective.
☞ Check to see if the breaker has tripped.
☞ If you use electric circuit breakers, turn the circuit
breaker on again.
☞ For other types of fuse, consult a qualified electrician.
y The device is not switched on.
☞ Check all power levels.

y The device is connected to a window contact switch and
the window is closed.
☞ Open the window.
A cooking zone or the entire hob switches off.
y The circuit breaker has tripped.
☞ Make sure that all cooking zones are switched off.
☞ Ensure that empty cookware is not used.
☞ Ensure that the device can cool down sufficiently
(e.g. inspect air outlet in the lower cabinet).
Breaks, fissures or cracks in the glass of the hob.
y Falling of hard or sharp objects.
☞ Turn off the device.
☞ Secure the device to prevent further use (e.g. by
disconnecting the power supply).
☞ Please consult your dealer or customer services.
Odours occur during operation.
y The filter filling is used up.
☞ Change the filter filling.
Observe the extractor hood instructions.
The smoke can settle on furniture, the fronts of kitchen units and
the ceiling.
y Smoke development by heating cooking oils and cooking
fats to too high a temperature.
☞ Note the smoke point of the cooking oil or fat you
are using. You can obtain this information from the
respective manufacturer.
Poor device performance.
y Intake grate or separator insert are blocked.
☞ Clean the device parts.

y The recirculated air filter is clogged.
☞ Replace the filter filling of the recirculated air filter.
Observe the extractor hood instructions.
y The exhaust pipe was not properly connected or installed.
