6. MAINTENANCE
CAREFUL!
All adjustments have to be carried out exclusively by killed nd qualified personnel,
who know the electro-pump and the relevant manual very well.
While servicing the electro-pump, it is absolutely necessary to adopt all the
useful measures in order to avoid the accidental start of the group itself
- The general switch on the power group must be blocked on position
"0" through a padlock.
- The key to the padlock must be given to a maintenance man who will
hold it for all the duration of the servicing.
Always keep in mind all the main possible risks and the safety instructions as in
chapter 3 "security".
• FULGURATION HAZARD
MAINTENANCE WHILE PARTS ARE IN MOVEMENT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.
IN CASE OF TOXIC/HARMFUL FLUIDS, ALWAYS DECONTAMINATE THE PUMP
BEFORE SERVICING.
AFTER ANY MAINTENANCE SERVICE, IT IS ALWAYS NECESSARY TO BRING
THE MACHINE AND ITS SYSTEM TO THE INITIAL STATUS, COM- PREHENSIVE
OF THE PROTEZIONI AND THE DISASSEMBLED SECURITY DEVICES.
In order to obtain a good maintenance service, it is important to
- verify immediately the causes of any possible anomaly (excessive noise,
overheating, overflowing fluids)
- pay particular attention to the security devices
- use all documentation provided by the builder (usage manual,
schemes for the electrical system, and so on)
only use qualified devices for maintenance as well as original spare parts
6.1 • PERIODICAL OILING
GREASY OILING
Use high quality mineral-base grease with anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion and
anti-foam additives.
As a supplementary information, we list hereafter some recommended type of
grease:

An excessive quantity of grease can cause an overheating of the bearings.
Oil lubrification intervals (actual operation hours).

Unfavourable working conditions, such as a high room temperature,
a high air humidity, dusty air, an aggressive industrial atmosphere etc., make it necessary
to control the bearings more often; in particular cases, they will need to be washed and re-
greased (with new grease).
Before substituting the grease, completely remove the used one (fig. 36) in order to obtain a
correct substitution, let personnel of technical assistance do this maintenance.
