• Do not use a UHP magnet in the external well.
• Before placing a magnet in the external well, be
sure to remove additional internal magnets to avoid
potential skin irritation, pressure, or redness.
• Do not use broken, cracked, or chipped magnets. If necessary,
contact your cochlear implant center or Advanced Bionics for
a replacement.
The Neptune sound processor and AquaMic carry a rating of IP68.
This rating indicates that the Neptune system when using these
parts is protected against the following conditions:
• Complete protection against dust penetration
• Failure due to continuous immersion in water up to 3 meters (9
ft. 10 inches) for 30 minutes.
Water Use
If a swim cap, headband or other device used in water environ-
ments is placed over the AquaMic microphone, some degradation
in sound quality may be perceived.
