does not have an adverse effect on the quality of the
absorber coating and the collector output. Polluted glass
tubes must only be cleaned with a glass detergent and a
clean micro fibre cloth.
Wear safety gloves and goggles during installation
of the glass tubes.
Please make sure that no humidity may penetrate
the vacuum tubes/collector housing. Do not install the
collector during humid conditions or in rain.
Disposal
The collector contains harzardous waste. Dismounted col-
lectors can be returned to the manufacturer Oventrop. They
will be disposed of professionally.

3.2 Extent of supply OKP 10 and OKP 20

The OKP vacuum tube collectors are of modular con-
struction and consist of four main groups (see following
illustr.):
- Fully insulated collector housing with lateral compres-
sion connection for the collector circuit (illustr. 2)
- Vacuum tube with heat pipe and heat conducting steel
sheet (illustr. 3)
- Stainless steel foot rail with plastic tube bracket (illustr.
4)
- Set of mounting rails for roof installation (illustr. 5)
- Sheet elbow for the additional protection of the tubes
(without illustr.)
- Connection material consisting of M8 screws, washers,
sliding blocks (4 pces. each, without illustr.)
- 22 mm set of compression fittings for the supply and
return, consisting of compression ring and collar nut (4
pces. each, without illustr.)
- Screwed cable gland for fixing the temperature sensor
cable

3.3 Heat transfer liquid for a frost-free operation of
the solar plant
To guarantee a perfect operation of the solar plant and to
prevent freezing of the plant at temperatures below zero,
the heat transfer liquid "Tyfocor LS" available from Oven-
trop has to be used.
The heat transfer liquid is available separately.
Item no.: 136 16 90 = "Tyfocor LS", 10 l canister
Item no.: 136 16 91 = "Tyfocor LS", 25 l canister

4 Roof installation of collector

1. Mount roof hooks according to illustr. 6 and fix them
on rafter using wood screws. Provide for a sufficient
anchorage of the roof hooks at the roof construction.
Due to the total load in regions with high snow and wind
load stressing, the installation must be approved by a
structural engineer.
Illustr. 6: Fitting of roof hooks (Illustr. roof hook item no.
136 12 62)
2. Fit mounting rails onto the roof hook. The mounting
rails can be fitted onto the roof hooks from below or lat-
erally with the help of a sliding block (see illustr. 8 and 9).
The sliding block must introduced into the mounting rail
(see illustr. 7).

3. Fit mounting rails onto the roof hook. Tightly screw
roof hook to the sliding block with an M8 screw.
