12.0 TROUBLESHOOTING
TURN OFF THE ELECTRICAL POWER BEFORE SERVICING THE APPLIANCE.
APPLIANCE MAY BE HOT, DO NOT SERVICE UNTIL APPLIANCE HAS COOLED.
WHEN CHECKING CONNECTIONS, INSTALLING JUMPER WIRES (FOR TEST PURPOSES ONLY) OR
REPLACING COMPONENTS, UNPLUG APPLIANCE FROM THE RECEPTACLE TO PREVENT
NOTE: Many of the following tests will require that the side panels are removed from the appliance or
the insert be removed from its cavity to access the components. Before troubleshooting always con-
fi rm that all components are clean and free of ash build up.

ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENT.
PROBLEM
Ensure appliance is plugged in and/or power outlet does
not have any issues.
Manually reset high limit switch.
Close hopper lid.
Turn off the appliance and load fuel. Set desired setting
and press the prime button until fuel drops into the burn
pot. Turn on unit.
Check and ensure there are no wiring damages.
Using the wiring diagaram (Section 7), ensure wires are not
disconnected, frayed, or damaged.
Position burn pot properly.
Refer to "JAMMED AUGER" Section.
Poor quality pellets or damp pellets take longer to light or
may not light at all. It is recommended to use high quality
pellets.
Push the burn pot back against the igniter tube. Ensure
the igniter lines up to the holes in the burn pot.
Disconnect one of the brown wires from the exhaust
temperature sensor. If the appliance continues to operate,
contact your local dealer for service.
