3. Product information

As a rule, EW brine-earth heat exchangers
are used in buildings, which are equipped
with a room air system with heat recovery.
An energy-optimised frost protection can be
ensured for the room air system with the EW.
The EW uses the heat energy extracted from
the upper soil layers (frost-free depths 1.2 to
2.5 metres) to preheat the drawn-in outside
air, particularly in the case of low external
temperatures experienced during the winter.
The outside air is not warmed directly in the
ground but in the EW-K 225 brine register
directly ahead of the room air system. The
outside air that is preheated to plus degree
levels and then flows into the air room system
heat exchanger.
In the case of higher summer temperatures,
the EW diverts excess heat energy into the
ground. In this way, cooled outside air is fed
into the room air system.
