5.2
Adjustment
To determine a suitable mounting position, the sensor
can be placed in an adjustment mode.
⋅ Hold metal object in the near range (cf. Fig. 1 on
page 60 and Tab. 1 on page 61) of the sensor
bracket for around 5 s; the sensor is in the adjust-
ment mode when the yellow signal LED flashes.
The output remains in the safe state in the adjustment
mode.
⋅ To identify the enable zone, move the actuating
element in front of the sensor; The yellow signal LED
extinguishes when the actuating element is in the
enable zone.
⋅ Mount sensor and actuating element in the position
found.
⋅ Switch off adjustment mode by interrupting the
power supply or removing the activation for more
than 2 s.

Connecting cables
5.3.1
Requirements on connecting cables
The safety function may fail if the connecting cables
are incorrectly rated. As far as possible use connecting
components and connecting cables from SICK AG. The
connecting cables must meet the following conditions:
