Light Driver Installation when Lights are in a Body of Water (within 10ft
radius of pool)
For lights mounted in water, the junction box drivers must be installed not less than 48 inches (1.22
m) from the edge of the pool or spa. Run conduit from the mounting location up to the driver such
that the driver is not less than 8 inches (20 cm) above the maximum pool or spa water level, or not
less than 4 inches (10 cm) above the ground, whichever is greater. Refer to the diagram on page 4.
Wires can not be direct burial for this application.
Light Driver Installation when Lights are in Landscape (outside of 10ft
radius of pool)
For lights mounted in landscape, ½" rebar or copper pipe should be used to support the driver off
of the ground. Refer to local NEC codes for minimum installation height. ¾" PVC conduit is used
for the incoming low voltage power from the transformer and also for outgoing to additional drivers.
Because the ½" LED light cord is direct burial type, it can be run out of the driver's access holes
using the supplied stain relief shown on the following page. The light cord can lay on the surface or
be buried directly in the ground. Refer to the diagram below. The junction box driver should always
be powered by an isolated UL listed pool transformer.
Wiring Overview
Before wiring, always remove power to the system. Refer to the diagram on page 8 for an overview
of the electrical connections inside of the light driver.
