Chapter 1 – SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1.1 Safety precautions

Before the first use of the device the user manual should be read carefully. The following
precautions have to be considered:
1. it has to be checked visually if there are any signs of damage;
2. all instructions at the unit have to be considered;
3. all boxes with liquid has to be kept from the device; the device is not protected against
the penetration of liquid (IP 20);
4. it has to be checked if the accessories for application of the stimulation (electrodes,
connection cable etc.) are available.
1.2 For safety - contraindications
Warning:
The electro stimulation is not allowed to use in the following cases:
1. People with pacemakers, heart diseases or cardiac arrhythmias.
2. In front of the neck because of possible laryngospasm (spasmodic contraction of
the muscles of the larynx with narrowing of the vocal apparatur or the glottis);
3. beside the neck because of the sensitivity of the carotid glomus;
4. in the abdominal area and in the sacrolumbal during the pregnancy;
5. in the areas of damaged skin, on mucous membranes, by changes in the local sen-
sitivity, in infectious processes, inflammation, phlebitis and thrombophlebitis;
6. patients with implanted electronic devices (e.g. pacemakers) immediately below the
stimulated area;
7. near metallic implants and internal fixators (Prosthesis, osteosynthesis material,
spirals, screws, plates), especially while using single phase current (diadynamic, fa-
radic, DC for iontophoresis and galvano therapy);
8. in areas with tumors and in the area of the stomach or the lumbal area with lithiasis
(Liver or kidney stones);
9. in the area of dermatitis, tactile hypoesthesia, allergies to substances used during
the treatment, thermal anesthesia using iontophoresis.
