CLEANING THE BOILER
1 Remove any deposits from heat exchanger using a suitable soft brush. Do not use a brush with metallic bristles.
2 Check the condition of the combustion chamber insulation panels. Any damaged panels must be replaced.
3 Check the condition of the burner injector on the manifold, carefully clean it with a soft brush if necessary. Do not
use a brush with metallic bristles as this might damage the injector.
4 Remove any fallen deposits from the bottom of the inner case.
5 Clean the burner with a soft brush and check that the flame ports are clear. Blockages may be removed with a stiffer
brush.
6 Check the condition of the electrodes.
7 Check the spark gap, positioning and height of the electrodes.
8 Check that the fan impeller is clean and free to rotate.
Set the selector switch to 0, isolate the electricity supply and close the boiler gas service cock (see Fig. 2). Allow the boiler
to cool.
1 Heating circuit
Close the central heating flow and return valves (see Fig. 2).
Connect a suitable pipe to the drain point and route it to a suitable container. Open the drain tap.
2 Hot water circuit
Close the mains water inlet valve (see Fig. 2). Open any hot tap below the level of the boiler to allow as much draining
as possible.
Note:
Some water will remain in the components and care must be taken when removing them.

Once all the inspections have been performed, the piping must be leak tested. If the leak test requirement is a higher test
pressure than the maximum inlet pressure, you must isolate the Boiler from the gas line. In order to do this, you must shut
the gas off using factory and field-installed gas cocks. This will prevent high pressure. Failure to do so may damage the
gas valve. In the event the gas valve is exposed to a pressure greater than 0.85 psi, 23.5"water column (58.5 mbar), the
gas valve must be replaced. Never use an open flame (match, lighter, etc.) to check gas connections.
The system may have residual substances that could affect water chemistry. After the system has been filled and leak
tested, verify water pH and chlorine concentrations are acceptable.
