The bus coupler can recognize if there is a short circuit or open
load in a valve solenoid. The diagnostic data is not different.
A short circuit may occur if e.g. the isolation of the valve
solenoid has been damaged. An open load may occur if e.g. the
valve solenoid in a valve has blown or if a contact has been
interrupted.
A short circuit can only be recognized if the valve output is
controlled. An off valve output can only be recognized if it is
not controlled.
Exchange the defective valve if the diagnostic data reports a
O
short circuit or off load.
These functions are made available to the bus coupler by the
valve system. The parameter bytes may be used depending on
the field bus system. The valve system provides the bus coupler
with 1 parameter byte.

Bit 1 = 0: Only send an output diagnostic message if the
W
output is being controlled. A check is not done to see which
solenoids are available when the system is switched on. If
an output is being controlled where there is no solenoid, a
diagnostic message will be generated.
