TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Surround sound effects are
insubstantial.
Dolby Digital or DTS sources
cannot be played. (Dolby Digital or
DTS indicator does not light up in
the front panel display.)
There is noise interference when a
subwoofer is not connected to this
unit.
Low frequency sounds are
distorted.
On-screen display does not
appear.
No picture is displayed for
external components, such as a
DVD player.
This unit does not operate
properly.
There is noise interference from
digital or high-frequency
equipment.
This unit does not output effect
sounds properly.

Cause
The listening room is not a regular shape.
There is no wall in the path of the sound
beam.
The connected component is not set to
output Dolby Digital or DTS digital
signals.
The input mode is set to ANALOG.
The protection circuitry was in operation
because a source with strong bass
elements was played back.
CROSS OVER in SUBWOOFER SET is
set incorrectly.
The OSD video pin cable is not
connected properly.
TV is not selected as the input source.
The video cable is not connected
properly.
TV is not selected as the input source.
The internal microcomputer has been
frozen by an external electric shock
(such as lightning or excessive static
electricity) or by a power supply with
low voltage.
This unit is too close to the digital or
high-frequency equipment.
The original source includes surround
effects.
Remedy
Install this unit in a square or rectangular
shaped room.
Try placing a flat object, such as a board,
in the path of the sound beam.
Make an appropriate setting following
the operating instructions for your
component.
Set the input mode to AUTO.
Turn down the volume level.
Select SWFR for BASS OUT.
Connect a subwoofer and adjust settings
for SUBWOOFER SET.
Set CROSS OVER correctly.
Connect the cable properly.
Select TV as the input source.
Connect the cable properly.
Select TV as the input source.
Disconnect the AC power cable from the
outlet and then plug it in again after
about 30 seconds.
Move this unit further away from such
equipment.
Disable surround effect settings on this
unit.
