other food is cooked in very little water in a
closed pan. For the whole duration of the cook-
ing the tightly insertable lid should not be re-
moved to avoid steam escaping and to prevent
the cycle of water – steam being interrupted.
Cooking in little water is ideal for vegetables,
fish, poultry or young meat. This type of cooking
retains vitamins, minerals and trace elements to
a greater degree and all types of food keep their
particular flavour. There is no need to add salt.
Low fat frying
When frying with fat always put the fat into the
empty pot before heating it up!
Turn up the heat to medium-high or medium
temperature at most. Turn down the heat when
the fat begins to smoke lightly. Then lay the food
to be fried into the pot.
Fry both sides for about 8-10 minutes with the
lid on. The time needed depends on the size and
consistency of the meat.
Be careful with hot fat.
Never leave a hot pot without attention. Extinguish
burning fat with a blanket or a fire extinguisher.
By using this method of cooking with the lid on,
the meat cooks in its own juice and you can re-
duce the amount of fat significantly.

Instructions for induction hobs
Please note. Induction is a very rapid heat source.
Do not heat up empty pots or pans as excessive
heat can damage the cookware.
At a high setting there may be a humming sound.
This arises for technical reasons and does not in-
dicate a fault in your cooker or cookware.
The diameter of the base of the pan and the size
of the hob must correspond otherwise where the
dia -meter is small, the hob (magnetic feld) may
not react to the base of the pan.
Instructions for electric cookers
WMF Cromargan® cookware is available in the
usual household sizes.
Where electric hobs are used the diameter of the
hob should correspond to the diameter of the
