Setting up (figures on page X)
• Set up the device horizontally
• Do not place it on radiators
• Do not place it in sunlight
• Protect it from moisture and vibrations
Commissioning
Switching on (figures on page XI)
Switch on the power switch on the side
of the device
= After switch-on, "TEST" appears on
the display for 5 seconds.
Then "I.O." is displayed for a second.
Finally, "0" is displayed and the "Start"
indicator lamp lights up. The device is
now ready for measurements.
If an error occurs in the process,
"ERR6" will be displayed (see
Troubleshooting page 27).
Clean the sensor head before the
first measurement. To do this, carry
out two to three measurements
with new brake fluid.
Hold down the "Memory" button
when setting the time and date. The
counter goes up automatically until
the button is released.
Connecting (figures on page XI)
• Connect the device to an easily ac-
cessible socket so that the power plug
can be pulled quickly in the event of a
hazardous situation
• To connect to the mains, use the 3-pin
ATE power cable supplied or anoth-
er cable manufactured according to
industry standards with a protective
conductor and plug
• Never operate the device without prop-
er earthing
Switching to setting mode

1. Switch the device off
2. Wait until all of the indicator lamps
have gone off
(approx. 10 seconds)
3. Press the "Start" button while switch-
ing on the device and release the
button after 4 seconds
= "P1" appears on the display.
