8 Installation
• For required connection cables → Connec-
tion and wiring diagrams [} 81].
• Grid connection and 230 V input: Type NYM-
J 5G1, 5 mm²
• Control cables: Type J-YSTY, 0.8 mm, 4
wires. Max. 25 m from star point, up to star
point max. 4 m
• Connector plug for fan cable:
• PP 45 O: Connect enclosed connector plugs,
after line feedthrough, in accordance with wir-
ing diagram.
• PP 45 K, PP 45 RC: Wire control input and/or
230 V power supply in accordance with the
wiring diagram in appendix. Connector plug
for fan cable is plugged onto circuit board.
• The unit may only be operated using the
voltage and frequency shown on the rating
plate. For rating plate→ RLS 45 O or RLS 45 K
control or PP 45 RC ventilation unit. Operating
voltage for PP 45 O / PP 45 K units = 12 V DC.
• Suitable mounting material is to be provided by
the customer.
• Sensors: Incorrect measured values can result
from unsuitable installation location. Avoid dis-
turbing influences and direct sunlight.

8.3 Fitting slide-in module and in-
ternal cover

8.3.1 PP 45 O, PP 45 K

Wall sleeves, external covers or soffit ele-
ments are already installed in accordance with
shell installation instructions.
Perform following steps for all ventilation
units
1. Take inner plaster protective cover out of wall
sleeve.
2. Check angle of inclination of fitted wall sleeve.
There must be an inclination of 1 to 2 % to the
exterior wall.
3. Route control cables of ventilation units,
sensors and accessories in the empty ducts.
4. Take off front cover of internal cover's hous-
ing. To do this, press on locking lever on un-
derside of housing and take off cover.
5. With PP 45 O and PP 45 K units, route the
room air control's 12 V control cable from the
rear side into the internal cover's internal
housing.
6. With PP 45 RC units, route the 230 V power
cable from the rear side into the internal
cover's internal housing.
7. Align the internal cover's housing horizontally,
centred on the wall sleeve and mark the 4
fastening holes.
8. Place the dowels and screw the housing to the
interior wall with 4 screws. Suitable mounting
material is to be provided by the customer. For

Fan unit, ceramic heat exchanger and filter
seats, with the two air filters, are already in-
serted in the slide-in module in the factory. G2
filter facing interior wall, G3 filter facing exter-
ior wall. For filter types → Operating instruc-

9. Ensure that the air filters lie flat in the holders.
10.Slide slide-in module into wall sleeve.
CAUTION Risk of injury/damage to unit
from falling slide-in module (3 kg). Sometimes
the slide-in module is hard to slide in. Ensure
that you are standing securely and cannot
lose your balance and that there is no one un-
der the unit.
When installing and removing the slide-in mod-
ule, support it from below with a hand.
