OPERATION
1. Place the appliance base on a dry, even work space out of the reach of children.
Place the power cord so that the appliance can not by pulled down by it.
2. Take the jug and briefly press the lid latch inwards. The lid opens.
3. Fill the jug with cold tap water (please note the MAX and MIN markings in the
jug, fill max. 1,7 litres and min. 0,5 litres), then close the lid by pushing it down
to perfectly close the jug. Caution: The lid has to be closed all the time while boi-
ling.
4. If necessary, dry the outside and bottom of the kettle. Place the kettle on the dry
appliance base.
5. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
6. Push the green dot of the ON/OFF toggle switch down. The control light sur-
rounding the switch lights up in white.
7. Once the water is boiling, a single signal sounds, the appliance automatically swit-
ches off, the toggle switch jumps back and the white control light goes out.
8. Carefully remove the jug from the appliance base and slowly pour the hot water
into a prepared jug, using the spout. For safety reasons, we recommend always
pouring boiling water through the spout without opening the lid.
Caution: Always be careful not to burn or scald yourself with the hot steam
coming out of the spout!
9. If you do not need any more hot water, pull the power plug, pour the remaining
water out of the kettle and let the appliance cool down.
Tips:
Do not tilt the filled kettle too much and never turn it upside down, even when
the lid is firmly shut. Water can escape even when the lid is closed!
Always make sure that the lid is closed before switching the appliance on.
The concealed heating element in the bottom of the jug is made from high qua-
lity stainless steel. Should there form any brown residue, this is not rust but lime-
stone. Please remove it as described in the section "Descaling" on page 46.

Should the appliance overheat, f.e. if there is no or too little water in the kettle
or if it has already evaporated, the appliance automatically switches off. In this
case, pull the plug and let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes before
using it again.
