BEFORE FIRST USE:
RINSING THE KETTLE
Before first use, the jug has to be rinsed. Proceed as follows:
•
Open the lid of the jug by briefly pushing the lid latch inwards.
•
Fill the jug with cold tap water to the MAX marking in the level indicator.
Caution: The MAX marking in the jug must never be exceeded, otherwise hot
water might squirt out! The maximum capacity is 1,7 litres. Similarly, the MIN mar-
king (0,5 litres) must never be fallen short of, otherwise the overheat protection
is triggered.
•
Place the filled jug on the appliance base and close the lid.
•
Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
•
Press the ON/OFF toggle switch (push green dot downwards); the control light
surrounding the ON/OFF switch lights up in white while the appliance is switched
on.
•
Wait for the water to come to a boil. The end of the boiling process is indicated
by an acoustic signal and the control light going out. Additionally, the ON/OFF
toggle switch jumps back to the position with the red dot. Then, carefully pour
the water out through the spout with the lid closed.
•
Repeat the process twice.
•
Your appliance is now ready for use.
