OPERATION WITH DIAMOND DISC
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Follow steps 3 - 5 from section „Replacing
the diamond disc".
OPERATING WITH POLISHING PADS
Use polishing pads (39) for dry polishing with
hook-and-loop fastening and a flexible pad. (Fig.
10)
The choice of the polishing pad depends on
the required quality of the surface you intend to
process. Usually to achieve the final appearance
of the surface it is necessary to use several pol-
ishing pads with different grit starting with rough
ones and consequently replacing them with fine
grit pads.
The diameters of the polishing pad and the flex-
ible pad shall coincide.
Regularly check the condition of the flexible pad
(35) hook-and-loop fastening. Hook-and-loop
fastening with injured and worn-out hooks is a
prerequisite for poor pads fastening and hence
- a probability for an accident. Do not operate
flexible pads with damaged hook-and-loop sys-
tem.
MOUNTING THE POLISHING PAD
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. If you have already used the power tool
with another accessory - remove it following the
steps described in the corresponding section for
this accessory.
4. Clean the threaded and face surfaces of
the spindle (25) using soft cloth and brush.
5. Take the distance washer (34) and place it
on the face of the spindle (25).
6. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body
between the spindle (25) face and the the nut
(34) face which may hamper their contact. The
presence of foreign bodies and disturbed face
contact are prerequisites for inexact movement
of the operating tool and increased vibration
Original instructions
causing unsatisfactory quality of the processed
surface.
7. Mount the flexible pad (35) onto the spin-
dle (25) and tighten it on the М14 thread.
8. Press the spindle lock button (29) and ro-
tate the flexible pad (35) clockwise until the but-
ton sinks and locks the spindle (25) movement.
9. Tighten the flexible pad (35) by hand rotat-
ing it clockwise.
10. Release the spindle lock button (29). En-
sure that it has returned to its initial position
and does not lock the spindle (25) movement. If
necessary rotate the spindle (25) or the flexible
pad (35) by hand until the button (29) has been
released and returned in its initial position.
11. Mount the selected polishing pad (39) tak-
ing care to situate it exactly in the centre of the
flexible pad (35). Coaxiality is a prerequisite for
proper dust extraction and therefore - high qual-
ity of the processed surface.
12. Turn the machine with the polishing pad
(39) facing downwards
13. Plug in the power tool.
14. Move the ON/OFF switch slider (33) to
switch the machine on.
15. Let the machine operate at no load for ap-
proximately one minute not allowing the polish-
ing pad (39) to contact any surface.
16. At the event of increased vibrations or
other symptoms not typical for operation, stop
the machine immediately and search for the
reason. If you can not detect the reason your-
self - contact the nearest authorised SPARKY
service centre. Operating with a faulty machine
may cause an accident!
17. If no trouble is detected then you can start
operation.
REPLACING THE POLISHING PAD
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend fixing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Removed the used polishing pad (39).
4. Follow steps 11 - 17 from section „Mount-
ing the polishing pad".
