(Childproof) lock
During the cooking process it is possible to fix
the current settings by using the lock. The
light under the button lights up.
The lock can also be used as a childproof
lock.
Locking
1 The appliance should be switched on.
2 Press the button with the key symbol.
3 If necessary, switch off the appliance.
The light under the button lights up. The lock
remeins activated when you switch the
appliance on or off.
Unlocking
1 Press the key symbol.
The light under the button goes out. The
appliance's controls will now respond again.
The on/off button continues to work
(emergency switch-off) even when other
settings have been fixed using the locking
function.

Fast-cook setting

You bring food to the boil on a high setting.
Then you switch to a lower setting to allow
the food to cook through. The automatic
bringing to the boil feature does this for you.
After bringing food to the boil at full power,
the feature automatically switches the hob
down to the cooking-through setting.
You usually use the same setting for certain
foods. You always let potatoes, for example,
cook through at setting 5. Using the automatic
bringing to the boil feature, you can now
select the setting immediately.
The potatoes are brought to the boil, and after
this the feature automatically switches the
hob down to setting 5. So you do not have to
stay around to turn the dish down to a lower
setting once it has come to the boil.
Attention! When cooking small quantities, the
fast-cook setting may be too fierce. In that
case, do not use the fast-cook setting.
Switching on
1 Switch the hob on, and select a cooking
zone.
2 Select setting 9 using the '–' or '+' buttons.
3 Press the '+' button.
4 Set a cooking setting using the '–' button.

The selected setting and appear in the
display alternately.
At the end of the come-to-the-boil time, the
cooking zone automatically switches down
from the maximum power level to the setting
selected for completion of the cooking.
The table below shows the coming-to-the-boil
times for the various settings. At setting 6, for
example, the time required to come to the boil
at high-level power is 2 minutes and
30 seconds, after which the cooking is
completed at setting 6.
