Note: The cable assembly comes preattached to the upper boom end. Ensure that the clevis on the cable assembly is aligned with the
cable termination eye on the upper boom end, and the pin has been inserted through the clevis and eye
and secured with a retaining pin.
Lift and angle the boom upright. Then connect the carabiner on the shock absorber end of the cable assembly to the U-bolt located on the
telescoping mast. Push the boom downward until cable assembly is taut.

Using a locking carabiner, install an ap-
proved self-retracting lifeline (SRL) to
the U-bolt located on the boom end.
Important: The U-bolt on the boom end
is the only attachment point permitted
for the fall arrest connecting device.
Note: A minimum 16' (4.88m) self-retract-
ing lifeline is recommended for use with
the SkyORB system.
Self-retracting lifeline must include a lock-
ing carabiner or other approved anchorage
connector.
Connect the 30 ft. (9.1m) tagline included
with the SkyORB system to the self-re-
tracting lifeline by attaching the clip on the
end of the tagline onto the snap hook on
the SRL. Tie the other end of the tagline
around the boom between the cable termi-
nation eye and the U-bolt to prevent it from
slipping on the boom.
Note: Be sure to tie the tagline tightly as
it will be used for reorienting the boom, as
well as to provide easy access to the con-
necting device from the work level.
