Ringer EquivalenceNumber (REN)
TheREN is usedtodeterminethenumber of devices that may beconnectedtoatelephone line.
ExcessiveRENs onatelephonelinemay result inthedevices not ringinginresponsetoanincom-
ingcall. Inmost but not allareas, thesum of RENs shouldnot exceedfive(5.0). Tobecertain of
thenumber of devices that may beconnected toa line, as determined by the totalRENs, con-
tact thelocalTelephoneCompany. For products approved after July 23, 2001, theREN for this
product is part of theproduct identifier that has theformat
US: AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimal point
(e.g., 03is aREN of 0.3). For earlier products, theREN is separately shownonthelabel.
Incidenceof Harm
If this equipment HSM2955causes harmtothetelephone network, thetelephonecompany will
notify youin advancethat temporary discontinuanceof service may berequired. But if advance
noticeis not practical, the Telephone Company willnotify the customer as soon as possible.
