2.1. Warning

Compliant with Directive 2014/30/EU.
This device must be used outside explosive atmosphere zones. It is important to correctly mix
the paint inside the barrel before taking a sample of 100ml that allows taking a measurement.
Due to the small quantity of paint used, no explosive atmosphere zone has to be considered
when being used.

2.2. Marking

2.3. Temperature of use

Between 15 and 30°C.

2.4. Battery check

This apparatus functions with only one alkaline battery of 9V, of which the lifespan is more than
1000 measurements of 20 seconds each one, in maximum charge (on resistivity of 500kΩ.cm).
When the tension of the battery is lower than 7,5 V, the red led lights briefly once at the begin-
ning of measurement to indicate the imminence of the replacement of the battery.
When the tension of the battery is lower than 7 V, the apparatus cannot function and lights a
red led instead of the yellow scale.

2.5. Paint resistivity measurement

After mixing the paint well, dip the probe plate into the paint up to about 1 cm from the handle.
Then press one of the three red, black or blue buttons. Choose the button that gives the elec-
troluminescent diode (LED) a position in the same colour scale and on this, read the resistivity
directly in megohms. centimeter (MΩ.cm or 10
zation of measurement before read it.
Note that the scales increase towards the left, and avoid for instance, reading 12 instead of 8.
• The red scale permits measuring resistivities of 0.5 MΩ.cm to 5 MΩ.cm.
• The black scale permits measuring resistivities of 5 MΩ.cm to 70 MΩ.cm.
• The blue scale permits measuring resistivities of 60 MΩ.cm to 1,000 MΩ.cm.
The tension of 45V is generated in-house. if this tension cannot be reached (short-circuit of the
probe during measurement of low resistivity for example), the red led indicates by a short flash
followed a permanent lighting. The generation of the 45V is then cut.

2.6. Cleaning of the probe

After each measurement, carefully clean the probe plate. Use the paint thinner and avoid
damaging the circuit of electrodes engraved on this plate. Also avoid leaving the probe to
soak in solvent. Simply wipe it with a clean rag dipped in solvent.
