18 W LED ceiling light with motion sensor

Intended use
This product is designed for use as an indoor and outdoor light. It has an IP44 protection rating and can be
installed and operated outdoors. The light is not dimmable. It is designed to be mounted on a ceiling and
features a built-in motion sensor that switches the light on when movement is detected. The light switches off
automatically after a preset time interval.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product
for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can
cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them.
Make this product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Meaning of symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the triangle is used if there is a risk to your health, e.g.due to an
electric shock.
The exclamation mark indicates specific risks associated with handling, function and use.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
All metal parts that could carry a voltage in the event of a fault during operation or maintenance
must be connected to the protective earth conductor.

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information.
If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this
manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage to property.
Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it
from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage
the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the light.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a
qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Attention, LED light:
- Do not look directly into the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• Always comply with the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment when using
the product in industrial facilities.
b) Installation and mounting
• Always ensure that the power supply is disconnected before installing or carrying out other
work on the product.
• Ensure that you mount the light in the correct position (see "Mounting and connection"
section), otherwise there is a risk of a fatal electric shock!
• This product is designed according to protection class I; the earth wire must be connected.
• The light must not be operated using a dimmer.
• This product is not explosion-proof. Never use the product in rooms which contain or may
contain flammable gases, vapours or combustible dusts! There is a risk of explosion!
• The light must only be used when mounted in a fixed location. Never mount the light in
vehicles.
• Do not hang or secure any objects (e.g. decorations) to the light.
Preparation for mounting
Pay attention to the "Safety instructions" section.
Warning! The product must only be installed by a qualified electrician who is familiar with the
relevant regulations! By carrying out improper work on the mains voltage you endanger not only
yourself, but also others! If you are not sure how to mount the product, consult an electrician.
Do not attempt to mount it yourself.
• Mount the light so that children cannot reach it.
• Only mount the light on a stable surface. Depending on the surface, suitable screws and dowels must
be used.
• The lamp must be protected with a 10/16A fuse at the sub-distribution. An earth leakage circuit breaker
must be installed before this.
• The lamp may only be installed when it is disconnected from the power supply. It is not sufficient just to
turn off the light switch!
• Isolate all poles of the mains cable from the mains supply by removing the electric circuit fuse or
switching off the circuit breaker, and then turn off the residual current circuit breaker. Protect it against an
unauthorised restart, e.g. with a hazard sign.
• Before installing the product, always check that the power supply to which you will connect the light is
turned off! Use a suitable measuring device to ensure that the power supply is isolated.
You are advised to install a switch to turn the light on and off. If you wish to connect a plug
(not included) to the mains cable, you must ensure that there is an extension cable or a mains
socket available near to where the light is mounted. These components are not included with the
product.
Mounting and connection
Read the information in the "Preparation for mounting" section.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when drilling
mounting holes or securing screws.
a) Choosing a mounting location
Do not install the product in corners, near objects that are in the vicinity of the motion sensor, or obstacles
that may obstruct microwave radiation from the sensor. The sensor emits microwave radiation and detects
movement via echoes.
The product can be used in the vicinity of water sources (e.g. sinks and toilets), but it must be placed in zones
2 or 3 as shown in the diagram below.

• Do not point or mount the light near to sources of heat / heat exchange systems, otherwise the sensor
may not work properly.
• Do not mount the light near to sources of magnetic interference such as ballasts in fluorescent lighting
systems or electric motors.
