• The "height" number 1, indicates that it should not be duplicated. The position number 2
indicates that there is a small reduction in the key and that when it is larger it corresponds to
height number 3. Height number 4 is the highest of the reductions of the key.
• Then we take the key and we mark the combinations of each of the 6 positions, as shown
below, as an example.

NOTE: The series of numbers of the combinations is the code of the key
3.2.6 MD13R KEY
• Special placement in the jaw See Figure
See fig. 10
3.2.7 TS14 AND TS12 KEYS
• Special placement in the jaw The TS14 key is blocked as indicated in the diagram
• The TS12 has the particularity that to mechanise the left-hand side it is blocked like the
TS14 and to mechanise the right-hand side it is blocked by the rear part of the jaw (like in the
case of the MD13R)
See Fig. 11
3.3 ENCRYPTION OF KEYS WITH OPTIONAL TUBULAR JAW
3.3.1 TUBULAR KEYS
• Use the cutter-tracer F-8 / P-8
• Block the key in the "V" of the jaw
• Activate the tracer spring-loading
See fig. 12
3.3.2 FC6 AND RC-3 KEYS
• Use the cutter-tracer F-11 / P-11
• Block the key in the jaw, supporting it on the bottom and pushing towards the front face
of the jaw
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
• Block the head of the machine at a height so that the cutter passes over the jaw without
touching it
• Do the cutting of the two upper sides
• Turn the keys taking remembering to remove the burrs to ensure the correct positioning and
fixing of the key, and process to the cutting of the other two faces of the key
See fig. 13
3.3.3 TK23, TK24, -- AND TK25 KEYS
• Use the cutter-tracer F-15 / P-15
• Fix two blank keys into the jaw and do the vertical regulation of the tracer on them
• Fix the original key with the teeth upwards (as indicated in the drawing)
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
• Introduce the tracer exactly in one of the two points, and block the head of the machine
at that height
• Continue with the cutting
See Fig. 14
4.- MAINTENANCE
Ensure fulfilment of the following requirements whenever carrying out any type of mainte-
nance:
1. Never do any type of maintenance operation with the machine switched on.
2. Unplug the electrical power cable
3. Strictly follow the indications of the manual.
4. Use only original replacement parts.
4.1 REPLACEMENT OF THE JAW CHUCK
The jaw of the DAKAR-UP machine has two pairs of chucks (fixed chuck and mobile chuck). If
either of them is damaged, it can be independently replaced with new chucks.
The replace the "fixed chuck" (A) just unscrew the two screws that fix it, and remove them by
pulling them up. Do the reverse to install the new chuck.
The replace the "mobile chuck" (B), do the following:
1) Remove the black cover from the handle of the chuck using a cutter or similar.
2) While blocking the locking nut with a 14 spanner introduce a 5 Allen key through the hole
that is now uncovered in the handle of the chuck and unscrew it.
3) Remove the bush (C) by unscrewing the two fixing screws. After removing the bush, ma-
nually turn the axle, removing if from one side. After removing the axle, the mobile chuck is
free and it can be removed.
4) Do the reverse to install the new chuck.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When replacing the left or right fixed chuck always do the adjustment
of the pair of chucks that have been replaced. To the contrary, no chuck adjustment operation
is necessary if you replace a mobile chuck
See Fig. 15
4.2 ADJUSTMENT OF THE CHUCKS
Every time you replace the left or right fixed chuck, always do the adjustment of the pair of

chucks that have been replaced. To the contrary, no chuck adjustment operation is necessary
if you replace a mobile chuck.
There are two ways of adjusting the chucks:
- NORMAL adjustment
- PRECISION adjustment
4.2.1 NORMAL ADJUSTMENT
This is a quick and simple adjustment providing an acceptable adjustment to be able to dupli-
cate keys with a certain amount of precision.
Follow these steps, to do this adjustment:
1) Block the two adjustment axes in their corresponding tool holders, so they reach the stop
inside the tool holders and the conic part of the adjustment axis is inside.
2) The right-hand fixed chuck and the two mobile chucks of the jaw cannot be adjusted. The
right-hand chuck has to be assembled guided by pins, and then block it using screws. The
mobile chucks are assembled as described in section 4.1
3) Therefore, knowing that in each pair of chucks one has to be in its fixed position, we have
to adjust the other chuck regarding the one in the fixed position.
4) Introduce the screws of the chuck to be adjusted but without tightening them. Therefore,
the jaw can be moved by hand, but does not have the possibility of elevating above the sur-
face where it is supported.
5) Now adjust the chuck:
5.1) Introduce the adjustment axis of the tracer into hole number 1 of the jaw.
5.2) Make the adjustment axis of the cutter coincide with hole number 1 of the other chuck.
5.3) Elevate the head and do the same operation but in hole number 2 of the chucks.
5.4) Repeat the previous point as many times as needed, until the adjustment axis enter
smoothly and without force into both holes number 1 and 2.
5.5) With the two adjustment axis introduced into number 1 holes, block the head, and intro-
duce screw B without tightening.
With the two adjustment axis introduced into number 2 holes, block the head, and introduce
screw A without tightening.
5.6) Repeat the previous operation, but tightening screws A and B.
5.7) After finishing the adjustment, using the 1.5mm special short-arm Allen key, tighten the
two prisoner screws located in the handle of the jaw and the chuck we have adjusted. This
way, we ensure improved consistency in the fixing of the chuck we have adjusted.
4.2.2 PRECISION ADJUSTMENT
This adjustment requires a certain amount of skill, and with this, we achieve a high precision
adjustment of the replaced chucks.
Follow these steps, to do this adjustment:
1) The right-hand fixed chuck and the two mobile chucks of the jaw cannot be adjusted. The
right-hand chuck has to be assembled guided by pins, and then block it using screws. The
mobile chucks are assembled as described in section 4.1
