Operation
Warning
· Ensure the following in the movement area around the DFME−LAS
nobody can place his/her hand in the path of the moving parts
(e.g. using a protective screen)
there are no objects in the positioning range.
It must not be possible to touch the DFME−LAS until the mass has come to a
complete standstill.

Service and maintenance
Warning
Hot surface temperatures (up to 70 °C in normal operation, over 100 °C when
there is a fault) can cause burns.
· Touch the hot guided drive only if there is sufficient protection against burn
ing (e.g. use protective gloves).
Note
Modules may be damaged if they are not handled correctly.
· Observe the handling specifications for electrostatically sensitive
components.
Note
Liquid cleaning agents such as soap suds can damage the guided drive.
· When necessary, clean the DFME−LAS only with a soft dry cloth.
Liquids must not penetrate into the interior of the DFME−LAS.
·
If necessary, remove ferromagnetic deposits (e.g. metal filings) from the
magnetically coded measuring tape 8. Even the low magnetic attraction force
of the measuring tape can cause metal dust to accumulate.
