11.7.2 Starting automatic operation

Each time a start occurs, the planar surface gantry is homed by the station's controller. During homing, the
planar surface gantry travels automatically to the uppermost right-hand point within its limitations.
•
Remove all objects from the travel path and do not reach into the planar surface gantry's work space.
After all start-up prerequisites have been fulfilled, the green reset LED blinks at the control console.
Start procedure
1. Press the "Reset" button for 3 seconds.
Homing of the planar surface gantry is started, after which the gripper is advanced to its initial position.
If homing is successful, the green start LED lights up.
2. Select the store or issue mode:
Store mode – turn the key switch to the vertical position.
Issue mode – turn the key switch to the horizontal position.
3. Press the "Start" key.
The station is now ready and automatically detects a part in the holding unit.
Note
If the planar surface gantry doesn't automatically travel to the uppermost right-hand point within its
limitations with the gripper during homing, homing must be repeated (First press the "Stop" button
for 3 seconds, then the "Reset" button for 3 seconds.)
If it's not possible to repeat homing, remove the station from operation and contact customer
service.
