Trimming
Trim the liner according to user preference. Use an Iceross Curvemaster
or a similar tool to produce a smooth and rounded edge, minimizing the
risk of skin irritation and/or the liner tearing.
Donning and Doffing
Always communicate with the patient to ensure no discomfort is being
experienced. If the patient is not able to actively participate in applying
the liner, always make sure an assistant holds the limb in the correct
position during application.
PRECAUTION: Do not use alcohol spray as a donning aid, as this can
destroy the Easy Glide coating.
Donning
1. Remove the Iceross Post-Op liner from its packaging.
2. Place one hand inside the liner and turn it inside out, taking care not
to damage it with fingernails (Fig. 3).
3. Ensure the liner is fully inverted exposing as much of the bottom as
possible. Position the bottom of the liner directly against the distal
residual limb (Fig. 4).
4. For transtibial amputees: Bend the knee slightly.
5. Roll the liner all the way up the limb (Fig. 5).
6. Feel along the length of the liner to ensure no air pockets are present;
if air pockets are found reapply the liner.
Doffing
1. Before removing the Iceross liner, record the time it has been worn on
the limb in the treatment chart.
2. Roll off the liner.
3. Following removal, invert the liner back to its normal position.
Daily Use
Don Iceross Post-Op liner twice daily, as following:
Day 1: don the liner for one hour in the morning and the afternoon.
Day 2: don the liner for two hours in the morning and the afternoon.
Day 3: don the liner for three hours in the morning and the afternoon.
Day 4: don for four hours in the morning and the afternoon.
Continue to don for four hours in the morning and the afternoon on each
following day, until end of therapy.

NOTE:
– choose a larger size liner if the patient experiences discomfort or
pain caused by compression of the residual limb (see section
"Liner Size Selection").
– don liner when the patient is being transferred e.g. from bed to
wheelchair, and when going to the toilet. This will provide required
compression during movement. When the liner is not in use,
apply a soft dressing to maintain the effect of the compression
therapy. Use a rigid dressing (ORD) overnight to protect the
residual limb and to maintain contracture prophylaxis.
