BATTERY BACK-UP INSTALLATION

ENSURE THE GAS AND ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE APPLIANCE IS TURNED OFF.
APPLIANCE MAY BE HOT, DO NOT SERVICE UNTIL THE APPLIANCE HAS COOLED.
NOTE: In the event of a power failure your appliance can be operated using the battery back-up supplied.
A.
Remove the safety screen by lifting it up and off of the four shoulder screws.

Locate your battery holder, this would have been supplied in the manual baggie.
C.
Locate the red and black wires from the control module to connect to the battery holder, as shown below.
D.
Connect the red wire from the control module to the red wire of the battery back-up. Ensure the
protective sleeve covers the connections, as shown below.
E.
Connect the black wire from the control module to the black wire of the battery back-up. Ensure the
protective sleeve covers the connections, as shown below.
F.
Install two "D" size batteries, ensure the positive and negative ends correspond with those identifi ed on
the holder.
G.
Place the battery holder either onto the hearth, or in the front left corner of the control area, for the
duration of the power failure, as shown below.
H.
Ensure the safety screen is reinstalled onto the appliance during operation.
NOTE: Once the power has been restored, you must disconnect the battery back-up or remove the
batteries from the holder. The system will drain the batteries if they are left in the battery holder.
